CASUALTIES.
Mr V. G. Day, S.M., held an inquest yesterday at Windwhistle, into «the death of William Logan,' a farmer of Windwhistle; who, was found hanging from a ropt> at his homestead last Monday. The' widow .of deceased stated that he had suffered lately from headaches and indigestion,, and he had been worried about the price of wool. Other witnesses stated that'deceased had been despondent of late, .and had been worried about his financial position. Dr. H. D. Davenport gave, evidence as to deceased's illnesses and depression, and said that death was due to strangulation.. A verdict was recorded that deceased, while of unsound mind, hanged himself.

WELLINGTON," April 1. At an inquest regarding the death of Mrs Daisy Maud Mouhtford/whp died from injuries received by a fall or jump from a tramcar, the Coroner said it had not been shown clearly how she met her death, and returned a verdict that she died of injuries received through being, accidentally run over by a tramcar. Ample, evidence had been given that expedition had been shown by the tram officials in extricating the woman from underneath the car. INVERCARGILL, April 1. Harry Campbell, a miner, at Glenorchy, 45 years of age, was killed by a gelignite explosion yesterday. It is re* ported to be a case of suicide.
