Mr C. Roberts, late Chief Justice at Samoa, who has arrived from Apia, says' the boycott instituted by the natives, when the purchase of all goods from the whites was banned, was now broken, and the position was more satisfactory. Ho spoke highly of the work done by Mr N. H. McDonald, Secretary for Native Affairs, who knew how to (handle the natives, and also understood their manners.
