Mr P. S. Nicholls, who lias been on a visit to Australia, returned to Christchurch yesterday. ■Mr J. B. Clarkson, who recently returned to New Zealand from the Oid Country, is at present on a visit to Christnhurch. Mr AY. E. Hyslop, managing director of the Tourist. Motor Co., Ltd., of Hastings, is at present in Gnristchurch on a business visit, and is staying at Warner's. A London cable message announces that Sir Campbell Stuart has been appointed managing director of "The Times." Sir Campbell Stuart is one of the many talented young men whom Lord Xorthcliffe has discovered. Upon the signing of the armistice lie joined the Northcliffe newspaper organisation, and succeeded Mr Thomas Marlowe as managing editor of the '"Daily Mail." He is only SO years of age.
