(in the last occasion lie received a great ovation in the crowded Iceturo Hall:. Afterwards there v.a.s an impressive ceremonv when lie had the degree of Doctor ifonoris Causa conferred upon him. Tho Chancellor of the University, Doctor Rovsing, delivered an address in which he paid the hiphest tributes to Sir E. Rutherford's f-eieuti'ie work, which, he said, was of the utmost importance to the whole world. The Physical Society of Denmark, whose guest Sir E. Rutherford was, gave a beni quel in his honour, which was attended ; by many distinguished wnentists. !
