OBITUARY.

j , A private letter from 'Melbourne records the death in that city of Mr W. sf. Turner, for many years a popular comedian in the English Pierrots. Mr Turner was with the Pierrots in Wellington a few -weeks ago, and during that season was out of the bill for a week owing to an attack of influenza. The cause of death wa's heart failure. Many residents of the Dominion will regret to learn of the death of Mr I/. Nettelbeck, one of Messrs F. T. Wimble and Co.'s (Sydney) best-known travellers. Mr Nettelbeck's deatli occurred with tragic suddenness on Monday, October 11th, 011 board the steamer jvatoomba, while en route to Perth. Dr. Hoary Tee van, M.R.C.S., L.S.A., formerly captain of the 75th (Stirlingshire) .Regiment, died at .a nursing home at Tujibridgo Wells, Engiahd, on September 20tli. The late Dr. Teevan spent '25 years in New Zealand. He practised "for 12 years at Moray Place, Duncdin. He then moved to Geralaine,

where ho was in practice for 11 years. Owing to ill-health ho had to retire from practicc, and took up his residence at Tiraaru. At the end of two years, however, ho returned to England, hoping the sea, voyage would restore his health. At the beginning of this year ho was moved to a nursing home in Tunbridgo "Wells, where he died after much suffering. Mrs Tecvan remained with him to the end. Lieutenant-C'olonel George Savile Foljambe, of Osberton, "Worksop, Nottinghamshire, who was recently out in New Zealand, and returned by tho s.s. Corinthic a few weeks ago, was founddead in bed on September 13th at his town residence at Thornev Court, Kensington (writes our London correspondent). Colonel Foljambe had lately been in delicato health, and it was decided that no inquest was necessary, the cause of death being heart failure. The late Colonel Foljambe succeeded his father, the nt. Hon., Francis Savile Foljambe, in the family estates in Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire in February, 1917, and he in turn is succeeded by his eldest son, Captain Edmund Havile Foljambe, who is a captain in the Rifle Brigade. Colonel Foljambe married, in IS3B, dnughter of the Rev. Dr. Edmund 'Warre, D.1)., some time headmaster and Provost of Eton College, and leaves two sons (both of whom served with distinction. in tho lots war) and threo daughters. The late colonel served many years in. and also commanded, the Bth Battalion. Notts and Derbysh : rc Regiment. In his youncrer days he played a great deal of cricket both at Oxford and afterwords for his county of Nottinghamshire. Ho was a lceen sportsman, being a fine rider to hounds, and a good shot and fisherman. During the war Colonel Foljambe worked hard in an administrative capacity, and was awarded the C.B. in 1917.
