At a meeting of the Mimaeememt .Committeo of the New Zealand Rusrby Union, held to-night, Mr Jones moved that, m ° tho special circumstances, an additional North v. South Island match be played at. Cliriatchurch on June 23rd. Mr Jones said that practically every member of tho committee had voted for ths matoh m Wellington c?ainst his convictions, because the majority of the inter-island matches m tho last few years had been played in Wellington. The additional cxnenses for • a match in Christchnrch would only be £70, and the match, would bo of value in at^ eelection could be made of tbe Nevr Zealand team for Australia throo days later.
