OTIRA TUNNEL.

BIG FALL OF ROCK. (special to "the press.") OTIRA, June 10. About twelve o'clock last night the cracking of timber gave the miners working in tho Otira tunnel warning that a largo fall of rock was going to take place, arid that they should make haste to a place of safety. Shortly after the timber gave way, and the biggest fall of earth that has ever taken place in the Otira tunnel came down. The fall is about four miles in from the Otira end, and it is estimated that it will take three or four for the miners to clear away • tho debris. Tho happening is'most regrettable, as great headway was being made under the contract system.
