RED CROSS FUNDS. (By Cable—Press Association —Copyright.) (Australian. and N.Z. Cable Association.) MELBOURNE, June 9. The British Red Cross Society has remitted, through the Governor-Gen-eral. £150,000 .for distribution amongst institutions and nursing organisations/ solicitous for the welfare of. soldiers' and sailors' dependants. The gift has boen allocated as follows. £25,000 each to New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, West Australia, and Tasmania, and £20,000 to Queensland. SOUTH AUSTRALIA'S NEW GOVERNOR. (Received June 9th, 7.40 p.m.) ADELAIDE, Juno 9. The new Governor, Sir Archibald Weigall, arrived, and was officially welcomed. He told a good story of his reception at Tarcoola. ''When our train arrived, a young man, evidently the master of ceremonies, ran down the pla-tform, and, observing Lady Weigall and myself, said: "Do you know if there is a bloko here called Weigall?' Afterwards the Reception Committee presented us with a most charming address." RECALLED SYDNEY, June 9. In connexion with the late Government's soldiers' housing scheme, of which he was director, the Government is recalling Mr J.
