CHARGE OF PKOFITEEEING DISMISSED. (tress association telegram.) HAWEIIA, June 8. The charge against George Chrichton Tait, chemist, for alleged unreasonable profit in selling a 4oz pot of vaseline at Is 13d was dismissed. The Magistrate considered the price net unreasonably high, having regard to the several circumstances and the chemist's professional skill, which placed him on a different footing from the general storekeeper. The Magistrate found that the profit, taking into consideration the cost of replacement, was not inoro than 50 or •>5 per cent., and the net profit less than 11 per cent.. The price wus a« increase of 3d on a pre-war line, which was slow iu gelling. Defendant had sold a dozen pots only in five months.
