SHAVING BRUSH DANGER
Some shaving-brashes in two consignments from Japan distributed to retail shops in England recently were found to bo infected with anthrax. Every effort was made by tho _ Ministry of Health to recall those which have passed into circulation, but without much success. "We traced one consignment of between 2000 and 3000 brushes which arrived hero in tho early part of tho year, and have examined some of the brushes," said Dr. W. J. Howarth, medical officer of tho City of London, to a representative of the "Daily Mail." "The city bacteriologist has reported that he has found anthrax infection in eight out of 11 brushes examined. A.t present the indications are that eases of anthrax at Hammersmith and Yarmouth were not contracted from brushes from the particular consignment we havo traced in tho city." Dr. Howarth added that it was believed tho brushes were made of horsehair dyed to resemble Badger-hair.
