Society of Engineers strongly favoured a 44-hour week, thus cutting out Saturday work. 17NEMFLOYEDIN BRISBANE. BRISBANE, January 10. A meeting of uncmployod was followed by a march to the Premier's office. Tho demonstrators wero intercepted by the police, who, after a struggle, captured the banner carricd by the unemployed. La tor, an interview was arranged with tho Premier, and the crowd dispersed.
MARINE ENGINEERS' STRIKE
