For somo timo dissatisfaction has existed among tho employees of the Bruce Woollen Mills, Milton, regarding tho failure of the directors to pay them n bonus on tho past year's successful ojicrattons, a course which thoy allego has been adopted by several woollen mills throughout tlio Dominion. A petition lias been largely signed requesting that u bonus Lkj granted. It is complained that one of the workers, while obtaining signatures to tho petition during tho lunch hour, was detected by tho manager, and almost immediately after dismissed without notice. The discharged worker happens to lie president of tho recently-formed Milton branch of tho Woollen Mill Employees' Union. An indignation meeting" was hold, and resolutions were adopted that tho management be asked to reinstate tho worker, and that, in tho alternative, wholesale resignations should bo handed in. A deputation waited on the manager, who refused to reinstate tho man. As a consequcnco, 120 employees have tendored their ro6ignntions. to take effect from the close of Saturday's work.
