The votes yet to come are from tho transport Kigoma (311 votes), due at Wellington on Tuesday, and the Ruapehu (197 votes), duo at Auckland on January 29th. Totals ut present are: — Continuance ... ... 240,998 State Control ... ... 32,148 Prohibition ... ... 270,178 Prohibition minority 2,9G8 The recount of tho votes cast in tho various electorates is now complete. Speaking at a welcomo to tho Alliance delegates who returned from New Zealand after participating in tho Prohibition campaign, the Rev. R.. B. Iliimmond said that numbers of alleged informal votes had been wrongfully put aside. The liquor trade was so strong in New Zealand that they were ablo absolutely to cloud tho issue in April and December He concluded that tho energy of the Prohibitionists had somewhat lagged in December, as they wero suffering from a sort of war-weariness, hut, in spite of these set-backs, Prohibition was cominrr in New Zealnnd, and the next fight there on this issue would probably ho tho last ono.
