Jean Charcot thinks that tho Hritish South Polar aerial expedition is feasible, but it will yield scientific results only if tbo explorers are nblo to stay at the Pole, and to fly above it. making magnetic. geographical, and aerial discoveries. He does not anticipate landing difficulties. Tho probletn has been foreseen and solved by tho adoption of broad skis affixed to the machine. Tho real risk will come from the wind and snowstorms.
