LOKD CUNLIFFE. (Br CaWf—Prciw Aisociation—CopyriAtJ (AujtriJiiji and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, Januaiy G. The death is announced of Lord Cunliffe, Governor of tho Hank of Kngland. FLord Cunliffe, who was born in 18.J.'), was a member of tho well-known firm of London bankers, Cunliffo Brothers, of Comb ill. JIo was educated at Harrow and Cambridge (M.A.). He was appointed a Director of the. Bank of Kngland in 1895, Deputy-Governor in mil. and Governor in 191.3. Hi; was also a director of tho North-Knstern Railway Company. Lord Cunliffe was raised to tho peeratre in 1014, taking tho title of Baron Cunliffe. of Head lev Ho was created G.B.E. in 1917 in recognition of his services as a financier. Jle received tho Order of fit. Anne (Russia* Ist class in lnio. and tho Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown of Italv in 1016. He was twice married, and is survived by Lady Cunliffe, two sons, and three danehters". His heir is the Hon. Rolf Cunliffe, bom in 1809.]

Tho death is announpod of a wellknown and highly esteemed resident of Hiverton in tho person of Mr Homy Hymons Boor. Deceased was horn at Krmedalo, and had lived practically all "his life in Rive.rton. At an early" ago he wont in for boat building, and during his residonro there' ho built many sailing, rowing, and motor boats. As a rower tho lato Mr Boor had few equals, •'ind ho won numerous prizes at tho annual regattas held at Hiverton and Bhiff.
