FRENCH DECORATIONS

WELLINGTON, January 8.
The Governor-General Las been advised that the French decorations described below have been awarded to tho officers and other ranks whoso names aro given in the following list, in recognition of their valuablo services in Samoa during tho first year of tho military occupation of that territory. The rank given in each caso was that held during the period for which tho award was made: — Legion d'Honneur Chevalier—Colonel Robert Logan, New Zealand Staff Corps, administrator of occupied territory of Samoa. Croix do Guerre —Major William Richard Pinwill, Imperial General Staff (Liverpool Regiment); Second-Lieuten-ant John Llewellyn Davies, New Zealand wireless detachment. Medaillo Militiare—Warrant Officer John Allen. New Zealand Engineers; Sergeant Ernest Edward Dunwoodie, New Zonlnnd wireless detachment. Medaillo d'Honneur, en Vermeill — Sergeant John Hector Robertson, oth (Wellington Regiment). Mcdialle d'Honneur, en Argent'— Sergeant Wm. McPherson Matheson, sth (Wellington) Regiment. Medaille d'Honneur, en Bronze— Corporal Robert McKenzio Watson, sth (Wellington) Regiment; Lanee-Corporal Wilfred Joseph Sim, sth (Wellington)] Regiment.
