• CORONER'S COMMENTS. (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, January 7. At tho inquest concerning the death of Charles Macklow, who was killed in a motor-cyclo collision at Aioxandra i Park last night, an eye-witness stated ' that tho collision; occurred at a corner j of tho straight after Craig had turned. | Both cyclcs were travelling at about forty iniloa an hour. Craig's light was burning, and, in witness's opinion, tho dust raised, the failing light, and tho I obscurity creat<«d by the fcnc<> wero contirbutory factors to tho accident. Tho modical ovidunce bhowej that ) death was duo to fracture and lacera- . tion of tho brain. i The Coroner returned a rerdict in [accordance with tho modical testimony and found that death was tho. outcome of an accidental collision between tlio deceased's cycle and that rid dm, by Sr-1-tvyn Craig. In delivering his verdict, ; the Coroner made several remarks in which he deprecated the practice of motor-cycle racing. Ho .said it was quite clear that tho Epsom track was unsuitable for cyclu racing by reason of the obstacle? in the way of the vision of riders and tho dn«t created. Motor-cycle racing was a notoriously dangerous sport under tho of conditions, and In* hoped that everything would lw done at the enMiing mooting to militate against any untownrd event. Macklow enlisted when lie was 18 Tears of age, and hfl/j lengthy service ( in Palestine as a motor-eyrlo despatch rider with tho Mounted Signal Troop. j
