(press association telecram.) WELLINGTON. January 5. The Uimutaka, with returning troops, berthed early this morning, and the troops disembarked. 'ii;oM' for south of Westport, Canterbury, Otapo, and Southland left to-night by the Maori. The last day at sea was marked bv the presentation of an illuminated address to the ship's master, Captain Hemming, from the officers and troops on board. Much educational work was dono during the trip. Tho Canterbury Automobile Association will, as usual, provido cars for returned troops due to arrive in Christchiirch to-day. The draft is by the P.imuteku, and the local quota for car sorvicc is al>out forty men. Members of the Association will bo notified as to the time they will be required <>n making enquirv at the ofTice of the secretary (Mr C. Hcrvev) this morr.inc.__ The Kirroma is now duo at Wellington on January 12th or 13th. The list of th" troopships, the Ruap»hr.. is expectrd at Wellington about January 30th nest.
