FEDERATED WOOLLEN MILLS' UNION.
♦ The annual mooting of the Federation of Woollen Mills tlnions was held at Potono on Doocmber 30th. Representatives from Onchunga, Wellington, Kaiapoi, Oamaru, Roslyn. and Mosgicl were present. Apologies were received from Asbburton and Milton. Several proposals for improving tho conditions of workers were carefully considered and adopted. The balanco-sbcet showed a surplus of £40 12s sd. It was docided that the headquarters of tho Federation bq Petone. Mr A. Anderson was appointed president, and Mr Leadbetter 6ccretary. The reported on the very satisfactory relations existing with the employers. Tbo Itoslyn workers had received a bonns of 16J per cent, on their year's earnings; Mosgiol 5 per cent.: Wellington 5 per cent, on last six months' earnings; Onchunga three weeks' wages as a Christmas gift, and Onmani ono week's wages as a Christma.-; gift, while Oamaru and Iloslyn workers had been paid wages when away through sickncss. Gratification was expressed with the reports, and it was hoped that tho New Year would Fee all the workers enjoying the snmo benefits.
