"I cannot reveal what tho actnal figures of tho estimate arc," said tho Mayor, "but I can say that they aro astonishingly moderate—less than half tho cost of tho proposod resurrection of Lyttolton and tho construction of tho Tunnel road. Messrs Timms and Kidman also 6ccm to view tho Port Christchurch proposal with a great deal of favour."
