A delightful "dance was given at Purau by tho Misses Xaaio and Graco Gardiner and Thelnia Jackson for the members of the camping party located at tho Bay. Mrs Pursey, who died at Rangiora on Sunday, was the only daughter of the late Mr W. Cane. Ferry road. Christchurch. find arrived in tho Dominion with her father and three brothers in the shin Bangalore in 1851. Her father was killed twelve months later when bringing goods oyer the Port Hills by puck horse. Sho married Mr W. Purser, of Ashley Bank, who predeceased her. Two sons and five daughters are left to mourn their loss.
One of the nursing staff of tho Auckland Hospital, Miss Marjorie Grimwade, oldest, daughter of Mr E. K. Grimwade, of Takapuna, died on Tuesday of typhoid fever, from which she had beon suffering for some weeks.
