Tho newspapers recently havo again been calling attention to tho appalling conditions in Vienna. It is now announcod that immediate steps arc being taken in England, France, and Italy to givo relief. Italy is sending grain, and England large consignments of fats and other foodstuffs. It has also been arranged that Czechoslovakia, Jugo-Slavia, and Poland shall relenso a largo number of railway trucks for Austrian use. The;c measures, however, are purely temporary, as it is felt that nothing permanent can be attempted till America falls into line with her Allies regarding their late enomics.
