Henderson, the centre's titlegate at the Auckland coniorencp, repcited ' on the proceedings thereat. Reference was made to the fact I hat at the Auckland tournament no provision vras made for lunchcon, the chairman indicating the difficulties that had prevented lunchcon being provided. Mr Henderson said that there had been nothing but chaos end trouble in connexion with the matter, end he would not like to see anything like the same -state of affairs at any lournaiu3.it held at Christchurch. No action was taken in tho matter. The secretary (Mr D. •E. Wood) stated that he had not received any information respecting the sterilisation of soil. It vnt decided that when the information was received a report ahonld be issued. ; It wa3 decided, on the motion of Mr H. Buison, aecondod by Mr E. C. Chegvm, that a tournament be hold at Easter, provided that greena are available. Mr Allison moved that there should, be doubles as well as rink competitions. In the course of the discussion. it -was pointed out that as Easter was law tins year daylight would not last long enough to permit of doubles being played. An amendment was moved by Mr Wood that only rinks should be played. The amendment was agreed to by I'J \ote» to 5. Details of the programme wer» discusud, and it was decided that entries should close on April '15th, and that entry fees should I not exceed 16s per player. The exe«*iUive was recommended to provide luncheon on «ach green, and that the luncheon period be cut down to three-quarters of an hour. It was decided that trophies should be awarded the winning rinks. A lengthy discussion ensued on a ruotion proposed by Mr E. C. Chegwin, refunded by Mr H. H. Bott, that any surplus from the Easter tournament should bo devoted to the purchase of a soil sterilisation pmnt for (he uss oi clubs. The opinion was repressed Ihßt the greens in Canterbury cot. t a.-ed favcuraiJiy with those- in other puis c.'f tho Dominion. In view of the Dominion tournament to be held in Christchurch neat year, it was urged that all possible steps should be taken to improve tho greens. The motion was lost on a show il .hands hrmg taken.
Mr Vr. Henley moved, and Mr H, Burton seconded, that prizes of £5 and 43 L« offered to tho caretaker whose green ndjudged tho boat playing green oy a rammittca cf visitors; tho greens to be luflgad during the Dominion tournament. The motion vas agreed to.
