A first offender, a seaman with a sub-marine-attack badge on his arm, who"pi6aded that he hod been some time at sea, and that therefore the liquor which he took had an unusual cffect upon him, was fined 6s. A constable stated that he found eleven bottles on Wadnoni road, which he ascertained were dropped from a cart driven by the defendant. The defendant said that he had a restive horse, and could not pick up the bottles. , He was lined 10s and costs. BY-LAW CASES. James Pegley was fined 10s for driving a motor-car at night without having lights 1 uttached thereto. HAMILTON, January 31. In the Supreme Court no bill was found in the caae against Martin Kiddle, charged with manslaughter at Hamilton in connexion with the death of Adam Fort, who bad been knocked down by Kiddie's motor-car.
