The Poles advancod to the Brandonburg frontier, and occupied the important railway town of Schoenlanke. A later message states that tho Germans recaptured the town after bloody fighting. A fierce battle is proceeding on the Brandenburg frontier. BENEVOLENT INTENTIONS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received January 29th. 8.40 p.m.) : NEW YORK, January 27. The Paris correspondent of the "New " York Globo" states that the American peace delegation is determined to . create a strong Poland, economically' - independent and capable of becoming 1 a first-class Power in European affairs, ! and of withstanding German economic [ competition. Tho delegation intends to - secure for Poland Danzig and a stretch ' of territory with a population of thirty r to thirty-five millions.
