CRIME IN ITALY.
EPIDEMIC OF ROBBERIES. (By Cable.—Pre«s 'Association.—Coojright ) | (Australian and N.i.. Cable Association.) LONDON, January 27. The Milan correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" states that there is a remarkable outbreak of violent robberies. Hooligans armed with daggers and revolvers are stealing goods of all kinds, iargelv during transit. Railway staffs and military sentries are frequently seriously handled. Over 400 local railway employees have been arrested. The parcels post robberies have reached a climax. There nrt» many attacks in broad daylight on pedestrians and merchandise passing through the city, and many incendiary outbreaks. The Press attributes the occurrences to an anarchist outbreak by sinister elements entering Italy tince the Austrian debacle.
