CRICKET.
« — CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the committee of the -Canterbury. Cricket Association was held last evening, presided over by Mr D, Redpath. The Auckland Association wrote, stating that they had considered the matter of representative matches, but were unable to suggest dates at present. I The New Zealand Cricket Council, in .a letter, ' recommended that an invitation be sent to the Marylebone Cricket Club team to extend its tour of Australia to New Zealand. It was decided to inform the Association's delegates to the Council that the committee viewed the proposal favourably. On . the motion of Mr R. B. Ward it was ' decided to give a donation of £5 5s towards i the Returned Soldiers'. Association on behalf of its building scheme, .with an expression I of regret that the Association's finances did not warrant a larger amount being voted. It was decided, on the motion of Mr W. H. Winsor, "to ask the Lancaster Park Board of Control to send official notification of its intentions with regard to the future of the Park. I Mr "W". Simpson reported that the Wellington Cricket Association favoured the «s- ---' tablishment of a "home and home'' game, irrespective of tbe Plunket Shield, between , Wellington and Canterbury.
