DECISIONS OP AVAR COUNCIL. (Bjr Cable.—Frees Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Caiblo Association.; PARIS, January 24. A communique status that the Supremo War Council was attended by political representatives of tho Great Powers. Sir Douglas Haig, General derailing, Marshal Foch, and General Diaz were present. The Council conferred with Marshal roch and other military oxperts in retard to the strength of the forces to naintainod by tho Allied and Associdtd Powers on the AVestern front durag the armistice, and appointed a pecial committee, including Marshal 'och, General 3>iajj, and Mr AVinston !hurchill to examine the question. Tho Council agreed' to recommend for ho approval of the Governments consrned the issue of an identical medal ad ribbon to all the Allied forces and lose of tho Associated Powers particiating in the war. The evacuation of the Caucasus is aw complete, except at Kars. Tho ritish occupy Batoum, and have join--lup with the Baku forces. Bolshevist •oops occupy Vladikavkaz in Circautsia. Tho Press Bureau states that Geneil Sir Henry AVilson will attend the eeting of i/ho committee appointed 7 the Allied .and Associated Govornenta, to consider the strength of the rees to be maintained on tho Western ont during the armistice. ARMY OP OCCUPATION. (Austntlun N.Z. Osiblo Anw i.4 j/w | (Received January 27th, 7.25 p.m.) LONDON, January 24. The "Daily Express" understands iat tho fcew army proposals provide r tho formation of an army of occuition on a territorial basis, consisting fifteen of English, Scottish, id Welsh volunteers from the present rmy.
