During tho past week a fire had started along the railway lino between Kirwee and' Darfield, and considerable damage waa done. This fire was caused by a pasting railway engine, and the report recommended that the matter ehould be placed before the Railway Department. At Reserve Xo. 1762, near Dunsandelj preliminary clearance work toad been commenced, and noxious weeds over the same ground removed at little expense. The report was approved, and ill connexion with the clause relating to fires oaueed by railway" euginee, it was decided to write to the Railway Department with a view to asking them to make restitution for destroyed property..
