(Received January 2Gth, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 23. The "Morning Tost" draws attention to the fact of Germany sending troops I'o'nnd in spite of England's remonstrances. Germany insolently i pressed surprise that she had beon requested to refrain from provoking the Polish inhabitants of East and West Prussia, Silesia, and Posen, suggested that Britain had inadequate information, and proceeded to accuse the Poles of provoking the Gormans. The newspaper adds: "If the Allies permit Germany to attack Poland, they will not only acquiesce in the crime, but acknowledge that Germany is not conquered." The newspaper demands firmer methods. The "Morning Post's" Amsterdam correspondent confirms the report that Hindenburg commands the expedition against the Poles. REQUEST AND REPLY. (Received January 26th, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, January 23. The French Government has requested the Polish Government to grant free passage to German troops returning from the Ukraine, adding that if the Government declined the troops would force their own way through. Poland, in reply, insisted on the disarmament of the troops, for the concession of the requisite rollingstock, and permission for the Poles to immediately occupy Vilna, and take over German munitions and equipment.
