NORTH BEACH GALA.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR TO-MORROW. North Beach has hitherto been somewhat ! unfortunate in regard to weather for its Galas; but if boundlc3S enthusiasm and energy, end unceasingly well-attended meetings can influence the. weather, it should be a glorious day to-morrow, when the North Beach Gala will be held. This Gala has now become a recognised fixture, and the third ono to bo held tomorrow promises to eclipse its predecessors ii the great variety of amusementß provided for both young and old. Owing to a. full athletic programme, the committee has decided to commence the children's event at 1 o'clock, so that they will not clash with the life-saving contents at 3 o clock, and other events. A unique event in the aquatic programme is a tug-of-war contest m the water, waist high. The winof this competition are to sail off with the Returned Soldiers' teum on land at S.SO p.m.
