(PRESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) "WELLIXGTOX, January 21. The hearing- of the jewellers' dispute was opened to-day, but was not concluded. The employers suggested a renewal of the existing award for three years, with no alteration in hours. They desired that the hours should be 48 instead of 41 as asked by the union. The union claimed for a weekly wape of £4, as against £3 is now ruling; and increases were also demanded in the case of femal® workers and apprentices.
