MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
ROLLS BEING GOT READY,
The City Council's officers are at present engaged on the work of preparing the main roll in connexion with, the municipal elections, which will take placo in April. The mam roll closes on February 15th, and in the meantime canvassers are calling at each house given in the old roll as the address of electors on the roll in respect Of the residential qualification. When it is found that the person whose name appears on thd roll is not residing at the address given in the roll, the Town Clerk (Mr H. RSmith) te sending out postcards to the elector, worded aS follows:—"I have to inform you that it is not proposed 4o continue your name in respect of a residential qualification on the new dietriot electors' list for the city of Christ-" church, which is being prepared, on the ground that you do not now possess the qualification in respect of which your name appears on the existing district electors roll. This notice is fiflnt. inconsequence of the canvasser having reported that you do not now reside at the address shown on the existing roll. If you etill reside in the city of Christchurch, I shall be obliged if you will furnish me with your new address." The main roll, when completed, will be open for inspection from FebrttajV 15th to 22nd, and objections to it will be received up to March Ist. The City Council will meet on or beforo Moron, loth to certify to and sign the maim roll. f
