Coombs (Mr Fryer) was fined 40s and crate for failing to keep a proper wages and overtime book, and lfl and costs for employing a boy under the age of 1G years without a permit. MAINTENANCE. . Ivanhoe Price was ordered to pay 15e a week towards the support of three children in the Christchurch Receiving Home. Thomas Arthur Farroll, charged with not complying with a maintenance oro«r m respect of a ohild, was eontencod to 14 days imprisonment in default of paying the arrears, amounting to £2 lis 6d, within seven davs. ' Harold Charles Bowen, who was £28 m arrears on an order for tha maintenance of hia wife, for whom Mr Hunter appeared. wa& sentenced to two months' impxieonment, the warrant to be suspended if defendant paid £10 down and paid off the arrears at the rate of 5a per week, in addition to keeping up the payment® of £1 13s per week under the original order. "William James Blake (Mr Alpers), licensee of the Terminus Hotel, was charged with having opened his bar on November 28th during the period when all 'bars were clcood by order of the Public Health Officer. It was stated that the defendant had been ta::cn to the hospital the day previously, and the ■bar was opened by a porter for cleaning . purposes. The. breach was a purely technical one.
