NAVY LEAGUE WAR FUND APPEAL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The committee of the Navy League War Fund Appeal met last night, Mr Alex. Boyle presiding. It waß reported -that an appeal had been started in Timaru, and a total of £585 had been collected, which with the received from Timaru (£425), brought up the total to £1010. The Temuka branch wrote that an appeal had been launched in that district, and subscriptions were coming in rather well. The Temuka Borough Council had voted £10. | The Mackenzie County Cpuncil wrote, stating that' £10 had been voted to the fund. The Ellesmere County l Council wrote that it was proposed to hold a publio meeting at Leeston to consider the best means of assisting the fund. Mr H. Scott, hon. secretary of the Cheviot Navy League War Fund Collecting Committee, wrote forwarding £98 7s 3d, and stated that the Cheviot County Council had voted £50, which would be sent direct. The Spreydon Borough Council wrote, forwarding £25 to the fund. It was reported that the total collected to date was £10,176.
