FLOATING MINE.
(PRESS association TELEGRAMS.) WELLINGTON, January 20. When the steamer Waverley was approaching Patea from Wellington last Thursday, Captain Brigdon sighted a mine about 16 miles south of the river entrance. . The ship circled about the mine, the crew indulging in rifle practice till the mine exploded. .
