Hobbs purchased when last in Australia has joined the active brigade. Though only broken in' a few weeks ho shapes well, and like most of Varco'a stock has an even temper. The race Stamboul had atTimaru caused liim to lighten up in the middle piece. Ho .is a very bold galloper, and just the sort that should do well over hurdles. Moorabbe was sent up to race at the Wellington Meeting by lost night's boat. Acceptances for the Takapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting close to-morrow. Oxenhope, who is suffering from a badly cracked foot, is to be given a spell for two or three months.,Roumania and Trentham Hose, who came over'from the "West Coast during the week, were shipped to Wellington on Saturday evening.
