MINISTER OF LANDS.
VISIT TO CANTERBURY
• The Hon. D. H. Guthrie, Minister of Lands, is expected to arrive in Christchurch on the 24th inst , when he will meet the members of Canterbury Land Board. It is the .Minister s intention to inspect certain of thesoldiers' settlements in North and South Canterbury, including, if possible, Leets Vallev, Oxford district, and Clayton, Fairlie district. He will also visit the Oxford and Ashley districts. On the 27th inst. the Minister proposes leaving Christchurch ®a.rly y motor-car, passing through Ashburton and Goraldine to Fairlie. .On the 28th he will go on to the Hermitage, Mount (Jook, and the following day will view certain runs in the Mackenzie Country which are being subdivided for soldiers' settlements. Mr Guthrie expects to see the Benmore settlement and reach Kurow the same day, the 29th inst. Afterwards the Minister will go on to Dunedin.
