News from Luxemburg states that a republic was proclaimed by, the Committee of Public Safety, and lasted) only six hours. The French military restored order. PARIS, January 13. The Luxemburg Government has issued a proclamation urging the citizens to put down the revolutionary conspiracies, and stating that national unity was never more m view of the Government's decision to seek an economic alliance with the Entente, particularly with France and Belgium. GRAND DUCHESS ABDICATES. (Australian and "tf.Z. Cable Association.) (Received January 17th, 1.20 a.m.) LONDON, January 15. The Grand Dnchess of Luxemburg has abdicated. The Govermrtfent has offered the throne to Princess Charlotte. (Beater's Telfermu.) (Received January 17th, 12.10 a.m.) LUXEMBURG, January 14. The Chamber, by 30 votes to 19, chose Princess Charlotte to succeed the Grand Duchess.
