PATRIOTIC FUND.
MEETING OP. EXECUTIVE. Tee osacutive of the Canterbury Patriotic Fur.d met yesterday, the Mayor (Mr H. Holland) presiding-. It was decided to make a grant of £50 to the Hanmer Golf Ciub, the linka being largely availed of by so'.dier3 in residence at tho Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer Springs. A motion was passed Teferrinjr to the Adequacy of Fund Corajnittce, the desirability of propounding some scheme for tho utilisation of the ±'10,000 earmarked for a soldiers' home. The secretary of the Hepatriation "Board wrote asking the executive to submit the names of three of its members to the Board in order that the Board might select one for appointment to rhe- District Representation Board for Canterbury. The Adequacy of Fund Committee were instructed to nominate oti]v one member, tho executive to adhere to such nomination. It was decided to vote X'jO a month to the "War Contingent Association in London for looking after New Zealand fit men. and to make a grant of £100 to the Russell Square Club, London.
