A meeting of -the Board of tho 2v*ew Zealand Trotting Association will be held' today, at 1.30 p.m. The Addington track was not much in request yesterday, most of the work done bqing in educating young horses, the majority of whom, at present, are very backward. J. Cockerill_ drove Frank Tracey a mile and a half with the straps on. The King Tracey gelding hit out freely, but was not extended. Good, useful exercise was given to Eileywood and a maiden trotter by Wildmoor from Miss Burlington, both members of E. Berry's team. T. G. Fox drove Puwhenua two milee at a .sound pace, which the Harold Dillon gelding did without a mistake. The maiden pacer by Bogash, in J'. Cockerill's stable, with Bank Note on the lead, was jogged several circuits at a sound pace. Tho former has an attractive way of moving. Dunstable, the three-year-old Trotting 1 Stakes candidate, in A. Cox's stable, trotted a mile and a half. Although he left his feet a couple of times, the youngster's effort .was satisfactory. W. Smith did half to' three-quarter paoe with his team, amongst those that were exercised being Mintson, Bundura, Rearguard, Strategy, and Brown's Nugget. The first-mentioned three are 'being got ready for Forbury Park. The three-year-old filly by O.Y.M. from Flora G. is again in solid work under the care of J. Cockerill. At present she is very backward. T. G. Fox has an addition to his team, in a five-year-old gelding by Driftwood, a natural pacer, but very green. For her win in the Kanieri Handicap at the Westland Trotting Club's Annual Meeting, Greta has been penalised 6sec in the Wellington Handicap at Wellington. Rose Tracey, who ra:ed consistently at the holiday meetings on the West Coast, is now owned by Mr C. Ireland, a patron of J, Bryce's stable. Whilo being taken home from, the race 3 ■at Westport, Marvolo took fright at a motor car, ana received slight injuries, which will keep the Marvin Wilkes trotter off the track for a few weeks. The programme of the Winton Trotting Club's Annual Meeting is advertised in tliis week's issue of the "Referee." The club is distributing £800 in stakes, and has liberally catered for both pacers and trotters. Tho Winton Trotting Club Handicap is worth £150, and is for horses that can do smin or better for two miles; and the President's Handicap, of two miles, for unhoppled trotters, that can do siiiin 6sec, is worth £115. Nominations for all events close at 6 p.m. on Friday. Fisherton has left B. Jarden's "stable, and been returned to bis owner, A. Butterfield. Expedite, the aged pacing gelding by Gen;, eral Pet, is now owned by the local sportsman, Mr J. D. Redding, and is being prepared for future engagements by R. Allan. The Auckland Trotting Club has already issued its Autumn Meeting programme. The principal race, the Campbell Handicap, i 9 endowed with £450, and is for horses that can do 4min 39sec or better for two miles, while the Cornwall Handicap, of one mile, 2min 19sec class, cariies with it the useful stake of £-250, and a race has been set aside for both the slow and fast unhoppled division. Ivirikirioa, winner of the Association Handicap on the concluding duv of the Auckland Trotting Club's Summer Meeting, is now in her eighteenth year, and still pleasing the Auckland critics on the track. The Ashbiirton-owned gelding, St. Anthony, who in tho past has raced in the unhoppled division, has been converted into a pacer.
