KAIAPOI. The .Kaiapoi iiorougii Council met last night, the Mayor, Air J. -u. Btockwell, pro'Xhe Hospital Board and Eyre County Council wrote thanking all workera who assisted during the epidemic. ' " Circular letters were received from the -Napier, Hawcru, and Hastings iiorougii Councils criticising the ladinmistration of tho Public Health department, and it was resolved that the Kaiupoi Borough Council favoured an cnquiiy into the circumstances surrouifiiug the introduction of tho influenza into New Zealand, and the action of the Department in relation thereto. lir R. 0. Dixon wrote drawing the Council a attention to the dangerous slate of the Waimakariri at Eyreton. It was decided to in* spcct the place. The Fire Brigade applied for -£2 15s for two five-year-old service medals. The application was granted. The Brigade also asked to bo relieved of the duty of attending looal entertainments. This was referred to the Fire PreventiOA Committee. The Lighting Committee was empowered to deal with the lighting of the town clock. The Finance Committee reported:—Receipts £124 10s Id, bank debit balance £332 6s lid. The accounts passed totalled £421 6s 2d. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs Fuldseth on the loss of her sister.
