GOLDSBURY CASE.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ATTITUDE. At yesterday's meeting of the Council of the Canterbury Ciiamber of Commerce, Mr H. J. Marriner forwarded his resignation as representative of the Ciiamber on the Technical College Board. The resignation was accepted, with appreciation of Mr Marriner's action in connexion with the Goldsbury ease, his action being supported. It was decided to forward the resignation to the Technical College Board, and to state that it was not the intention of tho Chamber in tho meantimo to appoint a successor. Tho following resolution was also carried: —"That this Chamber withdraws from representation on tho Board of Governors of the Canterbury Technical College, and declines any further contributions towards the support of that institution, because it considers that, however good its technical teaching may be, its general teaching "s against tho production of loyal, responsible. and useful citizens."
