•irnESS association* tblechaji.) DANNEVIRKE, January 11. Borough coilnoillots last evening expressed some candid opinions on the Public Health Department in connexion with the influenza epidemic. Dunnevirlco was fairly hard hit, and the Council decided to support other local bodies in any action they might take to have the Department and its methods reformed. Cr. Thomson considered that tho Department had been very much at fault in not taking _ practical measures to meet the situation. Had precautionary measures been taken, he believed that many people "who had last their lives here would never have died. This was a serious statement, but ho thought it was deserved. Cr. J.
