» THE OPPOSING FORCES. (By Cable.—Press Aseociation.—Copyright.) (Australian and TR.it. Cable Association.) (Received January 10th, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 8. Sir Douglas Haig, in his dispatch, referring to the battle of Amiens, on August Bth, states that twenty-three German divisions were heavily defeated by thirteen British infantry and throe cavalry divisions, supported by 400 tanks.
