TRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALANDERS. The following message, dated January Bth, has been received by his Excellency the Govornor-Generalj from Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig: "I desire to convey to you the heartiest thanks of myself and all ranks under my commaud for your inspiriting message on behalf of New Zealand. ' "New Zealand troops have, by the magnificent manner in which they have fought at all times, materially assisted in the successful termination of hostilities.
