MESSAGE FROM SIR DOUGLAS HAIG.
TRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALANDERS. The following message, dated January Bth, has been received by his Excellency the Govornor-Generalj from Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig: "I desire to convey to you the heartiest thanks of myself and all ranks under my commaud for your inspiriting message on behalf of New Zealand. ' "New Zealand troops have, by the magnificent manner in which they have fought at all times, materially assisted in the successful termination of hostilities. "They and all other ranks join with me in sending to the peoplo oi New Zealand our very best greetngs and good wishes for the New Yoar (Signed), HAIG."
