4 UNKNOWN TYPE NOTED. (By Cable.—Presi Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N. 2. Cablo (Beutor's Telegram*.) (Received January 9th, 8.30 p.m.) LONDOM, January 8. Stockholm reports state that an entire minefield appears to be adrift off the south coast of Sweden. Twenty mines exploded off the Danish coast. Fishermen report that the North Sea is filled with an enormous number of small drifting mines of hitherto unknown construction. DISCONTENTED SWEEPERS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received January 10th, 1.20 a.m.) LONDON, January 8. The discontent among the crows of the minesweepers reached a climax on Friday, when some refused to put to sea, declaring that the remuneration was nttorlv inadequate in view of the risks involved and the big profits made by the trawlers, from which the crews were largely drawn. The authorities temporarily settled tho disputo by offering a bonus of 40s weekly, but some crews are still dissatisfied.
