Fluslied with new enthusiasm for tho Allies the Chinese have begun the iinuid'ation of the German bank at Shanghai (states a cable message to the American papers dated 22nd). This will be .particularly distressing to German merchants who got busy from the moment the armistice wa s reported. The Chinese demand the return ot priceless fourteenth Century bronze astronomical instruments which tho Germans sent home to Potsdam in the boxer year. Some of these were taken to Paris, but bave been returned.
