The preliminary arrangements in connexion with the forthcoming Plunkot Shield contest —Canterbury v. Wellington—were discussed at a meeting of the Management Committee of tiro Wellington. Cricket Association held ! on Tuesday night. The match will bo played on tho Basin Rrserv«, commercing on January 22nd, and play will bj. continued oil January ilrd and 1 2-tth. Jt was decided to commence piav each . day at 11 a.m., with a luncheon, adjournment , of on© hour from 1.30 p.m. to 2.20 p.m., and piav on till 6 p.m. In conjunction with the opening day's play a special junior match baa been arranged between teams representing WoMington and Hutt Valley. Bricc, manager of the I Wellington team, stated thai the game had 1 been a keen, arid interesting one, and he strongly recommended that the members of the Wellington team should receive caps to commemorate their victory, also that the team be photographed.
