From Montreal conics a startling and accurate propheev made in Canada by the late liord Roberts, recounted by "L'Evenement," of Quebec. The paper says Lord Roberts, when in Canada ten years ago, stated on ono occasion: "They refuse to believe me, and we are asleep under false security, for I do not hesitate to affirm that wo will have a frightful war in Europe, and England and France will have the hardest experience of their existence. They, in fact, will see defeat very uear; hut the war will be finally won by the genius of a French General named Ferdinand Foch, professor in a military school in Paris." The newspaper says Lord Kobcrts's prophecy was heard by a number of people, and that tho Duke of Devonshire lias repeated the prophecy, attributing ft to the field marshal.
